Overview

Located in the heart of Rome on V. dei Coronari, Pasta Imperiale stands out as an unassuming yet authentic destination for lovers of Italian pasta. This modest restaurant, known for its homemade pasta and thoughtfully selected sauces, offers a straightforward experience focused on quality and tradition.

The main allure of Pasta Imperiale lies in its fresh, handmade pasta varieties—from strozzapreti and gnocchi made with red potatoes to classic spaghetti alla chitarra—all crafted with simple, high-quality ingredients. Diners get to personalize their meal by pairing their chosen pasta with sauces like the rich carbonara made with guanciale, or the elegantly simple cacio e pepe utilizing Pecorino Romano D.O.P. This hands-on approach not only highlights the craftsmanship behind each plate but also ensures a meal tailored to individual tastes.

The menu also offers light and wholesome insalate served with homemade piadina integrale, balancing the pasta-centric offerings with fresh vegetables, olives, and soft cheeses. Beyond savory dishes, their tiramisu is often praised for its delicate balance, rounding off the meal with a classic Italian touch.

The ambiance is casual and compact, reflecting its focus on quick, satisfying meals rather than elaborate dining. This intimate space appeals to locals and visitors alike who seek a no-fuss, genuine Roman pasta experience. The friendly and accommodating staff enhance the welcoming atmosphere, making the ordering process simple and inviting, especially for those grabbing takeaway or enjoying a quick sit-down.

With reasonable pricing and quality that resonates with both locals and tourists, Pasta Imperiale is particularly suited for those searching for an authentic lunch spot that doesn’t compromise on flavor or tradition. Very reasonable and delicious! Some people might think it’s a bit too salty but we really loved their pasta!! I would come back this place for sure! It was around €16-17 for pasta, tiramisu, a glass (paper cup) of red and a bottle of water. You can choose pasta and sauce from several selection. Very casual but recommenced for quick reasonable and delicious lunch!

A great spot in Rome for fresh pasta. You can really taste that the pasta is homemade, and it was very good. The tiramisu was also delicious and well balanced. The place is quite small inside, but they offer takeaway, which is convenient. Prices are very reasonable: pasta with a glass of wine starts from €10.50. Overall, a nice choice for quality pasta without fuss.

This is a little hole in the wall place. Mostly take out I would guess, but a few tables. Order at the counter. Very helpful person at counter. Food was delicious! Great flavor. Could get a pasta dish, salad or tiramisu and water for €12

Just found this place walking around and I couldn't have been happier. The staff are great, very nice and try their best to accommodate you. The food is amazing, very authentic - Noodles are hand made, you choose your sauces and end up with a very delicious dish whatever it is you get and the prices are very reasonable - and don't forget to get the Tiramisu, it's great too.

Their pasta was really good for the price. Their student deal is sooo good it’s 8.5 for a large pasta and a mini dessert. The large pasta is just a normal sized portion imo. Atmosphere isn’t great to sit but still

The pasta dish was amazing. I paid 12€ for a whole menu and it included one water, one portion of pasta and one tiramisu. You could even choose the sauce and the kind of pasta you wanted:) The portion is very big. This was amazing and I enjoyed it very much

Quintessential hole in the wall pasteria minutes from Castel Sant’ Angelo. Take the extra 3 minutes to skip all the tourist traps and try to make it here. Statistically, a place with less than a dozen seats with over 2k reviews can’t ever be a dud. People know their stuff. Most people who walked in while we were here spoke Italian, increasing the authenticity in our books. They have 8 types of pasta and 9 ways of preparation, mathematically yielding 72 combinations - though I’m not sure if all combinations make sense. We ordered spaghetti cacio pepe, tagliatele carbonara, and gnocchi burro e parmigiano (in butter and cheese). Incredible. Just mind bogglingly delicious. If you are in the area - do stop by and taste the magic!
